Heinz warned over 'stingy' pay offer

Workers at food giant Heinz could be balloted for strikes in a row over pay, the firm was warned yesterday.

Unite said its members at the group's site in Wigan were pressing for a vote in protest at a below-inflation rise this year and a capped increase for next year of 3 per cent. Jennie Formby of Unite said: "There is absolutely no need for Heinz to be so stingy."
