MPs push for summer decision on new runway
The MPs, which represent the length and breadth of the UK and come from across the political spectrum, argue that a rapid decision is “vital for the prosperity of the nations and regions of the UK”.
Heathrow and Gatwick airports are trying to persuade the UK government to back their respective plans for additional runway provision.

Hide AdAn Early Day Motion has won the support of MPs from opposition parties including members from Labour, the SNP, the DUP, the Ulster Unionist Party, the SDLP and Plaid Cymru.
Gavin Hayes, director of Let Britain Fly, said: “The clear message from backbench MPs representing the length and breadth of Britain is that as soon as the referendum is out of the way a decision must be taken on airport expansion.”
