Body found off Angus coast is identified

THE body of a man, recovered from the North Sea off the Angus coastline last Thursday, has been identified.

Police Scotland today confirmed that the body was that of Ian Low, 59, who had been missing from his home in Montrose for more than a month

Mr Low was last seen at his home in Ferry Street, Montrose, on Friday, 2 August. Mr Low’s car was later found, together with a pair of glasses and a jacket, on the foreshore at Auchmithie by Police officers searching for the missing man.

fisherman around a mile and a half off the coast at Auchmithie .

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Mr Low’s family do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time. As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
