Centre tribute to Sir Patrick Geddes

ONE of the Capital's oldest buildings is to be overhauled to create a centre dedicated to a great Scottish thinker.

The Sir Patrick Geddes Centre will be created in a 5 million restoration of Riddle's Court - hidden behind an archway on the Lawnmarket section of the Royal Mile and the site of Sir Patrick's summer schools.

The building, which dates to the 1590s, has been under the shadow of a possible sell-off by the city council and it's condition has deteriorated. It will be become a major teaching and learning centre for the city.
