Clothes firm in jobs threat

Nearly 500 jobs are under threat after a workplace clothing firm which has an office in the Capital went into administration.

Alexandra - which has a history dating back 156 years - called in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as administrators yesterday following a recent decision to abandon a fundraising move. The company employs 484 people at locations including Edinburgh, Thornbury, Bristol, and Uddingston, near Glasgow.

PwC said Alexandra would continue to trade as a going concern as it attempts to find a buyer for the group.
