Councillor makes final push after epic charity bike ride

CITY councillor Stefan Tymkewycz is set to arrive back in the Capital today to complete his gruelling 1750-mile charity cycle.

The Craigentinny and Duddingston representative has spent the past few weeks cycling Scotland's coast for mental health charity Stepping Stones, the Mental Health Programme of Edinburgh University Settlement, to raise funds.

The programme uses a number of arts-based activities to support city residents with a variety of mental health issues and has given those who attend the chance to try their hand at film editing, amongst others.

Mr Tymkewycz said: "It's been a tough journey at times and I've thought of giving up but the thought of the charity has kept me going. I've seen first hand the excellent work they do and the difference they make to people's lives."

Stepping Stones is holding an open day on September 4 and 5 at the Old Fire Station on East Norton Place.
