Police have informed the family of a missing man from Elgin, after a body was found.

The body of a man was found in a wooded area in Birnie, Elgin, at around 10.50am on Saturday, 22 January.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however, police have informed the family of Sean Dawson.

Mr Dawson, 23, had been reported missing from New Elgin. He was last seen at about 5pm on Thursday, January 20.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
