Dawe backs ice rink plan
The rink was under threat after operator AJA Events said it did not want to risk further losses following a “significant” loss last year.
Talks are now progressing regarding a rescue deal that would ensure the ice rink goes ahead, and the Evening News revealed yesterday that a deal could be signed with M&D Taylor, the company behind “Scotland’s Theme Park” at Strathclyde Country Park.

Hide AdCouncillor Dawe said: “The ice rink has offered a great deal to Edinburgh as part of the winter celebrations and I hope to see it continue.”
Crunch talks are planned for early next week to finalise a deal for the ice rink, which was due to open to the public on November 24.
