• Bannatyne suffers from prosopagnosia, or face blindness: "I can have a two-hour meeting with someone and then not recognise them at dinner four hours later."

Hide Ad• Bannatyne was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to charity. He also received an honorary Doctorate of Science from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006.
• He appeared in a non-speaking role in the 2007 film Revolver directed by Guy Ritchie, left, bidding 8,000 at a charity auction for the part.
• On his roots: "Am I still the scruffy boy from Clydebank? Of course I am ... it's just now I can afford to buy every other boy in the country a bike."
