Hotel drunk who wrecked lounge jailed

A DRUNKEN Edinburgh man who went on the rampage in a Borders hotel has been jailed for 60 days.

Lee Graham was offered a room for the night following a day's drinking in the St Ronan's Hotel in Innerleithen, Peeblesshire, last month.

But when staff appeared in the morning, they found the lounge bar of the High Street premises had been wrecked, Peebles Sheriff Court was told.

Graham of Oxgangs Street, had broken tables, smashed glasses and bottles and attempted to break open the till.

Graham admitted causing damage costing around 1,200.

Defence lawyer Iain Burke said: "He accepts responsibility but doesn't know why he behaved like he did."
