Ministers slammed over jobless figures
Welfare ministers faced fresh embarrassment over their use of official statistics as a watchdog attacked "serious deficiencies" in the handling of unemployment figures.
Sir Michael Scholar, head of the UK Statistics Authority, warned failing to show evidence for claims made by ministers risked undermining public trust.
