Local people will have a chance to meet Karen on 18 August from 7pm. She will give a reading from her highly-praised book After the Fire. She will also discuss her work and answer questions from the audience.

The event is free, and refreshments will be provided.

Cllr Peter Boyes, Cabinet Member for Education & Communities, said: "Karen Campbell has many fans in Midlothian. Her visit offers a great opportunity for local residents to hear first hand from one of Scotland's most exciting new authors."
