From the archive: Scottish Empire Exhibition - 20 April, 1937
One Pavilion will be devoted to Science, including the development of industry through research and technical education. Scottish scientists have contributed much to the modern machine age, and future possibilities are also to be indicated.
Other subjects include education, town planning, history, literature and art, public health, municipal services, women’s organisations and community service. Lord Elgin stated recently that the Exhibition will contain a palace of engineering and a palace of industry, covering about five acres each, and a palace of arts in which the art of Scotland will be shown.
