Communities facing economic shocks such as the oil crisis currently affecting Aberdeen should be given taxpayers’ money to offset the impact on jobs and businesses, according to Jim Murphy.
The Scottish Labour leader said The Scottish Government should set up an urgent “resilience fund” for towns and cities hit by global economic disruptions.
Oil & Gas UK described Mr Murphy’s plan as “sensible” but insisted the industry would weather the current storm.
