Lack of stations
The creation of new or re-opened stations at East Linton and Reston is always to be welcomed (your report, 19 November). However, there are still massive high populations areas without stations.
When the Larkhall line was re-opened a further extension to Stonehouse/Strathaven was promised but failed to materialise.
Denny/Bonnybridge conurbation urgently needs a station as does Bathgate East; and Dysert Acceleration with electric traction considerably reduces station dwell time thus allowing more suburban stops for services in the Central Belt.
Road building is a continual movement. The railways seem to be only one-off projects.
