Letter; From the palace to the shipyards

I SHARE the concerns of your resident satirist, Gerald Warner, about the linking of Princess Diana and Jimmy Reid. One was an industrious, tax-paying shipyard worker who led the struggle to sustain paid employment for his colleagues; the other married into an indolent family who had never worked for generations but successfully sponged billions from the taxes paid by honest, working class people.

John Patton, Tillicoultry

HOW sad to read yet another nasty piece from the pen of Gerald Warner, this time about the "Dianafication" of Jimmy Reid.

Let the poor man rest in piece for goodness' sake. And would Warner have dared to write so poisonously about Mr Reid if the man was still alive?
