Love Labour’s lost

George Kerevan’s excellent article (Perspective, 10 December) is a reminder of what Scottish Labour has lost in a generation at Westminster.

John P Mackintosh was a politician who, had he not died so young, would have been an excellent participant in Scotland’s march towards greater devolution.

In his final paragraph Mr Kerevan aptly sums up the current breed of Scottish Labour MPs
at Westminster – surely the
reason that Scottish Labour
has indeed lost its following up here.

Mr Mackintosh will be
turning in his grave as those
chosen to take Scotland forward at Westminster choose the
well-trodden path that is self-preservation.

Shame on them !
