Unborn humanity
Ms Fyfe quite rightly mentions the plight of the “Migrant X” story in Ireland yet fails to mention the plight of the baby. The baby was delivered three months early and is likely to survive, but because of its extreme prematurity is about 80 per cent likely to suffer a handicap.
Ms Fyfe also talks of “a woman’s right to have a safe, legal termination”, yet what is it that a pregnant woman “chooses” to do? What exactly is abortion?

Hide AdInformation is readily available which explains different abortion procedures (medical, suction, dilation and evacuation, dilation and extraction). The descriptions are graphic, because abortion itself is a violent act, and it takes significant effort to hide that fact. What must never be forgotten is an unborn child – a human being – is legally killed in every procedure.
Maria Fyfe and everyone who identifies as pro-choice ought to ask themselves the following: “If it’s growing, isn’t it alive? If it has human parents, isn’t it human? And human beings like you and I are valuable, aren’t we?”
