Police see drop in dangerous driving cases
Police charged 243 people with the offence between last April and March, a drop on the previous year when 272 motorists were charged.
Meanwhile, officers charged 409 motorists for driving carelessly last year, a rise on the previous year’s total of 381.

Hide AdBetween last April and March, 1180 were charged with driving without a licence, while 3097 charges of driving without insurance were also made by Lothian and Borders Police.
Both figures represent a fall on the previous year when 1283 and 3364 charges were made respectively.
Last year, 2159 motorists were caught on the roads driving without an MOT certificate.
