Prized garden contest takes root in Edinburgh
GARDENERS in Marchmont and Sciennes are set to be rewarded by a new competition this summer.
The Marchmont and Sciennes Community Council Front Gardens and Containers Annual Awards will see a group of judges walk around the area in July looking for gardens worthy of recognition.
There is no need to enter – any areas which can be seen will be eligible.
The winner will be presented with the Smalley Cup, funded by Graham and Jean Smalley, who used to run Marchmont Post Office.
