Scots charity worker in plea to health chiefs

A SCOTTISH charity worker caring for terminally ill children and adults in Moldova has put out a plea to Scottish health boards for crucial medical supplies.

Perth-born John McKellar, Moldova country manager for Hospices of Hope, said the Angelus Hospice in the nation's poverty-stricken capital, Chisnau, was in desperate need of colostomy bags for patients.

Mr McKellar, who took on the role in Moldova two months ago, said the charity was awaiting funding from the Moldovan ministry of health next year but urgently needed supplies to treat patients before then.
