A new poll claims more than a quarter of Scots never want another referendum on independence.

But the Survation survey also found 14 per cent wanted another vote immediately.

The poll also revealed 18 per cent of people had fallen out with a friend or loved one over the independence issue – and a third of them felt the rift was permanent.

As well as the 14 per cent wanting an immediate repeat, 21 per cent said there should be a referendum before 2019, and 13 per cent between 2019 and 2024.

Survation interviewed 1001 Scots online between November 6 and 13.
