Trip to Monaco breaks the bank
Monte Carlo hotels were the most expensive in the world for UK travellers in 2009, averaging 172 a night, a survey by Hotels.com found.
Moscow was in second place, with its hotel rooms averaging 169 last year.

Hide AdAbu Dhabi was the third most expensive destination last year, with hotel prices averaging 159. New York (149) was fourth and Geneva (144) was fifth. The city with the least expensive hotels last year was Riga in Latvia, where rooms dipped 8 per cent to 55.
