Stonehenge goes online

Wiltshire: Stonehenge can be explored with the click of a mouse from today as some of the nation's most famous heritage sites have been added to Google's Street View mapping.

Over 20 historic locations across the UK – including castles, landscapes and country houses – have been scanned using a panoramic camera bolted to the back of a tricycle.

New Forest: A Time Team-style technology which can map what is buried underground is being used by the Environment Agency to search for illegally dumped waste.

The kit uncovered a buried waste site in the New Forest National Park on its first outing.
