Uni shows a caring side

A UNIVERSITY has teamed up with a city college and NHS Lothian to provide a new programme for health and social care support workers.

The new course, which sees Queen Margaret University and Jewel and Esk College working together, builds on existing work delivered at both institutions and aims to enable support workers to fulfil their roles in a changing health and social care environment.

QMU principal Professor Petra Wend said: "The value of working in partnership is that the collaborative teaching team can provide a holistic programme of education that contains the curricular elements to meet the learning needs of students, as well as the diverse practice requirements of health and social care support workers relevant in their day-to-day roles in the community."
