Catch ban proposed for endangered tuna
FISHERIES catching bluefin tuna might be the first to be hit by rules stopping international trade in endangered species, if countries heed calls to ban sales of the fish on the world market.
Falling stocks of Atlantic bluefin tuna are on the agenda for a meeting starting next week on controls on the trade in endangered species, as are "tiger farms", the ivory trade and the fate of polar bears.
