The Ekstraklasa side were ejected from the Champions League last season, after Bartosz Bereszynski was brought on as an 86th minute substitute in Legia’s 3-0 second-leg win over Celtic at Murrayfield. But Bereszynski had been sent off in the previous year’s European competition and as a result was suspended for the matches against Celtic. Celtic were awarded the tie 3-0, meaning that, after Legia’s 4-1 win in Poland, the Hoops progressed on the away goals rule. Botoșani - who recently signed former Hibs and Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson - had been drawn to face the Polish side in this year’s Europa League qualifiers. Leading 1-0 from the first leg, Legia booked their passage into the next round with a 3-0 victory in Romania, and a comfortable 4-0 aggregate scoreline. But it looks like Botoșani decided to poke fun at Legia - by dressing their ballboys in Celtic shirts. Incidentally, Robertson played the last 17 minutes, coming on as a sub for Raul Costin, with Guilherme, Nemanja Nikolic and Aleksandar Prijovic getting on the scoresheet for Legia.
