Hibs left it late in the final game of the weekend to stay with Rangers on 13 points at the top of the Scottish Premiership. The Easter Road side weren’t the only team to put on a late show to grab a crucial win with Celtic doing likewise on Saturday evening at Dundee United.
The league may have not thrown up plenty of goals but there has still been excitement and intrigue around the league. Referee decisions still infuriate, classy goals are still being scored and defensive dunderheids are around every corner.

1. Michael Gardyne (W)
The veteran winger was resplendent in Ross County’s deserved draw at St Mirren. He had a key part in the equalising goal, but aside from that he was a constant threat for the Staggies throughout the afternoon. He possesses great technique as well as an astute drop of the shoulder which takes him away from full-backs with ease. He may be 34 but by the looks of things still has plenty to offer. 2. People who argued against Shaughnessy’s red (L)
There are people out there who think the Earth is flat. So really it was no surprise that there were some of a St Mirren persuasion who argued against Joe Shaugnessy's red card in the game with Ross County. It was a red card. All day long. No amount of still images and claims of ‘he got the ball’ will change that view. Photo: Ross MacDonald - SNS Group
3. Stephen Robinson (L)
It is now one league win in the last 13 for Motherwell. It has really not been a good start to the season for the Steelmen. There is a feeling that Robinson has not quite got the balance right in the attacking third and it is concerning he is questioning his players’ desire. Not something you would expect under his tenure. Photo: Paul Devlin - SNS Group
4. Hakeem Odoffin (W)
Not only was Hakeem Odoffin Hamilton’s matchwinner but he was also an absolute rock at the back. It was one of those performances where he acted as a magnet for the ball. He won everyone of his defensive duels and bossed Jordan White. Read the game excellently, commanded his areas and then showed the desire to score. Brilliant. Photo: Paul Devlin - SNS Group
