Laszlo's Sky Blue thinking

FORMER Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has applied for the managerial vacancy at Coventry City following the departure of Chris Coleman earlier this week.

The Hungarian, who still lives in Edinburgh with his family, is keen to work in England after being replaced at Tynecastle by Jim Jefferies in January.

Bookies' favourite for the Sky Blues' position is Tony Mowbray, who was sacked by Celtic last month. Other candidates include Gary McAllister, Alan Curbishley, Phil Brown, Eric Black and Laszlo Boloni, the former Romanian national coach, who resigned from Standard Liege in February.

Laszlo has submitted his CV and is now awaiting a reply from Ray Ranson, the Coventry chairman.

"He is available for the job," said Laszlo's agent, Antonio Carlo. "He has put his CV in, which is now up for consideration by the board of Coventry City. Maybe something different would be good for the club rather than a succession of English managers."
